  1. Forgotten French

By Mig Eater for D-Day News

I've got two French units that TBH I made six months ago & then forgot about! Just remembered them while I was looking over the unit list XP With the Clemenceau done all of the Allied aircraft carrier are finished, I still need to make planes for the other two French carriers tho before the whole set is done.

This Clemenceau is a 1947 design that wasn't built & shouldn't be confused with the Clemenceau from 1961 that was.
  2. November 21st Update: The White Hand Part II

By Nertea for The Dwarf Holds News

In this update, I'll be showing off Isengard's new hero and some major changes to Saruman.

    Posted Image

    Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
A relatively cheap hero, Ugluk is Lurtz's second in command in Peter Jackson's movies. He is less of a fighter than his superior officer, but better at working with his subordinate Uruks. In The Dwarf Holds, his powers are leadership and support oriented. His initial Orc Draught power heals nearby Uruk-hai (as they are the only ones who will drink it!). Later, Uruk Lieutenant power gives a small bonus to Uruk Warriors and Scouts. At Rank 5, Commanding Roar gives a temporary buff to all nearby units' attributes.

    Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Saruman starts off with a new Rank 10 power - Storm. This power can be cast on enemy buildings to massively decrease their production output while damaging them as well. Don't like your opponent's prized Level 3 Mumakil Pen? Well, a Storm or two will destroy it. The rest of his powers are unchanged.

Eventually Saruman the White broke light to see what it was made of, and so became Saruman of Many Colours. In the mod, Summon Balrog has been replaced by a power upgrading Saruman. This gives him a host of new devastating powers to choose from. Firstly, Wizard blast becomes Crushing Blast, a new power with greater range that deals crushing damage to all enemies causght within its area of effect. Fireball is improved to Searing Fireball, which ignites the ground for several seconds after impact. Both Dominate and his Leadership powers also increase in radius and strength. Speech Craft is replaced by Isengard Unleashed, a new power that greatly boots the production speed of a target building for quite a long duration. Finally, Storm is also replaced - Duel of Minds is another crafty new power. When used, Saruman will engage in a duel of wills with the opponent. This has the effect of debuffing all of their attributes and doing some light damage. The power lasts until Saruman is moved or uses another power, so can be used to lock down an opponent's hero. However, there are a few mighty characters with the mental fortitude to stave off this attack completely...

Besides this set of powers, Saruman also casts lightning bolts when upgraded, which provide a slow but rather powerful attack.

When you purchase Saruman of Many Colours from the spellbook, you also gain a new structure. Your Citadels construct a scaffhold around them upon which Saruman can perch and give orders to his minions. From the building, you can purchase Focus upgrades. Only one can be active at a time, but you may choose from modes that benefit Uruks, Archers, Warg Riders, Siege Weapons or resource collection.

  5. Autumn update 2

By Creator for Contra News (eng)

We worked hard since the moment when last news came out. There is not much time passed, but we have 6 new models completed and 14 more in progress. The most of these models are mainly replacements for old ones, but there are new units too. But lets consider them one after another.

    1. New models for Air Force general super weapon. There is packed building to the left and ready to launch state to the right.

    2. New model for laser general's Crusader.

    3. New model for Cyber general Leech droid. We decided to remake it completely. It is robot buggy now.

    4. We had to return to Cyber general's Comanche once more. It was changed many times and we change it again now. It was conventional Comanche in the beginning, which was replaced with Hecate, which was replaced with Orce, which is being replaced with Raven now. It was decided to split its functions. Raven will keep antiair and antipersonnel functios, while antitank function will be trancfered to another unit. I won't say much about it because it is not balanced yet and it is unclear characteristics and abilities it must have.

    5. Air Force general's MCV tank will be replaced with new Coyote tank. Yet again, we remade everything. New concept was found and the model was made from scratch. The prototype for this model was USA HSTV-L light tank project.

    6. Many players complained of Stealth general's defense weakness. Demolition and Toxin generals have powerful Defense Sites, Assault general has powerful units to support his defense. But Stealth general had Stinger Sites and Missile Silos only. They did not provide as strong defense as other GLA generals could build. This is why new defense building was added. It is antiradar launcher, which destroys enemy radars at long ranges, but can not harm other units.

  6. Plucky Brits

By Mig Eater for D-Day News

I should really be working on the American buildings but I was getting a bit board with the yanks... So instead I'm working to fill in the last few gaps in the British todo list. There is only two voxels & two buildings left now.

With these new units the British are now also the first side since the change from NPatch to Ares too have all their superweapons fully working again, which required all the code to be redone & some of them changed all together.

I have also implemented a new system for the British heavy tanks, after you build the tech center you can build the standard heavy tank or if you chose, upgrade it into a specialist vehicle. For example you can now upgrade the normal A12 Matilda into the A12 Scorpion (seen below) or the A12 "Canal Defence Light", but you can only pick one!

The randomness of the shape/sizes of the unit pics was getting on my nerves a bit so I thought I'd try out a new standardised screenshot layout, the Jeep looks tiny but the Airhorse fits well IMO. Any way tell me what you think?

More tanks, more ships and more maps. Time for the next media update. This time, there's a new video too! Zenothist will briefly introduce you to two new heroes in this small Hero Spotlight part.

As you know, there are 9 subfactions and each of them will have their unique hero. The first of three previews features commando units for Epsilon Headquarters and China. Remember that what we're showing you in videos and in screenshots is still from a beta, many things will probably be changed before the final release.

Now, the traditional Azri_Apoc's unit showcase. As promised, there's a new Dreadnought and.. another Soviet capital ship. The following units have been added/remade for Mental Omega 3.0:
