Command & Conquer 2142 - massive update 1
Hi guys!

It's derek328 from "Command & Conquer 2142" mod here! :p

For those of you who don't know or forgot, it's a total modification aimed to transform everything from EA's shooter, Battlefield 2142, into an RTS game using the CNC3 engine. We've received tremendous support from users all over the net since we took the project out of deep freeze, achieving over 30,000+ views on Moddb, and landed rank #6/11042 mods registered there! Thank you for all of your support!! ;)

This is one mega update to make sure CNC Guild users can catch up with what we've been doing! So, without further ado, here we go!

Command & Conquer 2142 - An update delayed by 2 years.
Hello to all friends and visitors (:

Hi - I suppose I'll need to reintroduce myself all over again.. my nickname is derek328, and just about 2 years ago - the two clans that I manage, [CPH] and [PDNT], decided to collaborate on a total conversion mod for EA's RTS game "C&C 3". Our project, is Command & Conquer 2142.

For those of you who're big fans of EA's "Battlefield" first-person shooter franchise, you'd know exactly what I'm talking about. When Battlefield 2142 and C&C3 came out just about the same time in 2007, there are many of us who're totally in love with the setting and idea of BF2142, but often put off by things like random crashes, punkbuster errors, laggy servers, so on. And since all of us clan members also happened to find real-time strategy games pretty exciting - we decided to port BF2142, in its original flavour, to the C&C3 engine and play it as a strategy game.

Even though we've never actually released anything (besides raw renders and concepts), our modification has already received numerous awards from community websites around the world, for instance the "Most anticipated modification of the month" from Germany (we really couldn't have figured out what they wrote without Google translator!..) Our project portfolio & website have also served the highest number of visits at the time, I still remember we had over 800 views in the first week alone! (www.cnc3.net, we could never thank you enough for hosting us). And with the help of EA (who granted us permission of "stripping" BF2142 and porting it to C&C3) and many other generous (also motivated and VERY talented) forum visitors, I'd say our project was almost 30% finished in a mere 6-month period.

But then duty called.

Many of us in the original team who helped start the project had to go. We all simply had different things to manage in real life.. for the most of us, it was high school examinations and university applications. And with those things clogging up all of our "free time" afterschool, we had no choice but to "freeze" the project.

It's been 2 years now.. and believe me, all of us clan members still talk about this modification every now and then. From the first day we sat down to talk about this project on our school bus, C&C2142 is something all of us are proud of. It's really quite an achievement for us, high school kids back then. We've been looking at your comments, and now that we're all in university, some of us even thought of getting this unfinished project in gears again. Sadly, it's really been too long.. CNC3 and BF2142 are released so long ago, their respective sequels are coming out soon. We just find it really hard to kick things back into gear if we don't have the same momentum we enjoyed before.

Essentially, even though we really want to get this project up and running again - we don't know how to. I was just gonna keep this entire note to myself, but seeing how people still visit our profile after it's been frozen for 2 years.. I just feel the need to give you all a full explination of what is going on. Of course, nothing is impossible.. if any of you just happen to have an idea in mind - I'm happy to do what the team and I've been doing when the project was on.. we'll take your idea into considerations, and if we think it works out too, we'll do it your way. With credits to you and everybody else who suggests similar ideas! :)

Command & Conquer 2142 - news update 5!
Dear Revora network staff, members & fans of the BF2142/CNC3 community,

Hello, this is Derek from CnC2142 mod here! :)

Speaking on behalf of the entire mod team, we are very sorry that there has been very few updates throughout the past months, but our efforts have been genuinely recognized by the entire CnC modding community around the globe. In terms of view counts, , at least here at CnC3.net, we've already got over 3k visits. In terms of popularity @ Moddb, we're also not doing bad, ranking at the top 23% of all the listed mods. Furthermore, our mod is still one of the most-widely talked CnC3 mods to date, for instance:
- Psi Studios Forums,
- Thundermods.net,
- CnCHQ, and so on.
In fact, CnC2142 has also been voted the most popular in one of CnCHQ's monthly polls, with over 102 votes proving our worthiness. We do apologize for the continuous inactivity, :p but as the university applications draws close for us all, we sincerely admit there is no free time, at this immediate period, for any game modding, or even simple msn as a matter of fact. :sad: The applications & exams really are once-and-never-again events for us all in the mod team.

Although contents has been completed every now and then, with buildings, heightmaps and all vehicles now fully shaped & skinned, genuinely speaking our progress has been very slow - with majority of our time devoted to schoolwork and CVs, it is often even miraculous that we do find time to work on the mod during long holidays, such as Christmas & term breaks. Even so, I would like to thank Helge129 in particular, ^_^ for his great commitment and devotion to help creating a better CnC2142 mod than what it was planned to be in the first place.

We do wish to continue the mod after university application, SAT examinations and so on. But meanwhile, we sincerely don't want to hold up Revora any longer, which is why I have returned today, to post perhaps the last update of CnC2142 in a long time. The website will be taken down in a week today, according to the revora takedown regulations. :)

Nonetheless, I would sincerely love to express our thankfullness for all that the Revora community has provided us since the very first day!

EA releases CNC3 Official ModSDK - Grab it NOW!
C&C3 Patch 1.07 Released :)
- 24 / 8 / 2007

EA released patch 1.07 for download. It allows the installation of the long awaited Mod SDK which allows advanced modding of the game. 1.07 fixes the known bugs of the previous patch and implements a few balance changes.

- The balance changes are as follows:
- Cranes can no longer build defenses or superweapons
- Harvesters now unload at the current tiberium field before moving to collect at another field, and harvesting rate equalized
- Pitbull health lowered, mortar radius limited, and mortar upgrade price increased (d'oh! ;) )
- Buzzer hives sell for one buzzer instead of three

PLEASE NOTE: We strongly advise you use the in-game auto-updater to download patch 1.07 for Command & Conquer 3. If you cannot auto-update, then please click the link below to direct download Patch 1.07. Patch 1.07 for Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars enables the Mod SDK, fixes several bugs, and makes some critical balance changes. Please be advised, the Mod SDK installer will only work with the 1.07 patch installed. The Mod SDK installer is for the user to create customizable maps, units, AI, UI, and much more.

Command & Conquer 2142 - news update 4!
Hello members of Revora Forums, and fans from the CNC3 / BF2142 communities!

This is Derek here bringing yet another update to our mod, CNC2142! :)
Since early July, the team has been working hard for developing the modification.
Generally speaking, we have finished modelling the vehicles - with complete textures applied! We have also started modelling some structure models, for instance Anti-titan missile silos, Titan docking stations, barracks, and so on. We hope EA would soon release their ModSDK, so to allow us compile our alpha-stage software for release in Sept / Oct.

On the other hand, our website has also been updated with the following:
- INFO UPDATE : faq section is now updated with a 3rd Q&A session with the mod team
- WEBSITE EXTENSION : website is now linked with our CNC3.net mod profile, located here. Make sure you post any ideas, suggestions or comments!!! Please give us a vote too!! ;)

Finally, the mod team would like to thank EVERYBODY for the support & friendly feedbacks! :mellow:

Command & Conquer 2142 - news update 3!
Hello members of Revora Forums, CNC3 and BF2142 fans in the community,

This is Derek here bringing yet another update to our mod, CNC2142!
For the past few days, all of us in the mod team have been quite busy with all sorts of stuff. Even so, there is still a reasonable amount of work done for our upcoming mod, CNC2142! :p I would like to highlight that the mod is our major priority, however it is very hard for us to really "get it going" with before the ModSDK from EA actually arrive!

Meanwhile, I have improved the CNC2142 website with a number of tweaks and updates :p , including:
- INFO UPDATE : factions page, with vehicles and vehicle upgrades' info now included
- LOAD TIME OPTIMIZATION : website now takes only 1/8th of the original loading time
- INFO UPDATE : faq section is now updated with a 2nd Q&A session with the mod team

I shall keep everybody posted as we make further progress with our website and CNC mod!

This is Derek here, bringing you another update regarding our upcoming mod, CNC2142! :p
As we have promised last week, the mod team is now releasing the first batch of in-game meshes' renderings, featuring the UAZ-8 Ocelot FAV, T-39 Bogatyr Walker, Type-2 Titan warship, and even a sneak-preview of the Pan Asian Coalition (PAC) barracks! :p

Command & Conquer 2142 - news update!
Hello members of the Revora Forums, and fans of the Battlefield / CNC3 community!
This is Derek here, bringing you another update regarding our upcoming mod, CNC2142! :p

While EA APOC releases new information on the upcoming ModSDK for CNC3, both the rest of the mod team and I have been working hard for our CNC2142 project in the past week. So far, our team has already finished a basic version of the BF2142 map "Belgrade" for our alpha-software package. We have also been finishing off the PAC vehicle meshes, and have already started some other EU ones. ;)

During the past few days, I have updated the CNC2142 website "Factions" page, located at this URL. It now contains further details for different vehicles, as well as the "tech-tree" diagram for EU / PAC constructions. For those of you who are new to the Battlefield series, we have especially included an introduction text to the new Titan Mode gameplay, also located at the Factions database.

Finally, I would like to confirm screenshots of 3D models will be released at the forums next week - we have delayed it because some models were still incomplete at that time. :p I'll keep you guys updated!

Command & Conquer 2142 team members!
Hello members of Revora Forums, CNC3 and BF2142 fans in the community,

This is Derek here bringing yet another update to our mod, CNC2142!
Today I would love to announce two new people to the forums, warlord007 and parko328 (who is coming at this weekend). They are keen members of the mod team, and have participated in many public events, ranging from local LAN tournaments and even competitions worldwide (for another game). :rolleyes:

warlord007 will be leading the map artists, while parko328 will be the Public Relations rep of our mod. Couple of other members and I will be concentrating on the 3D meshes, as well as tech-tree designs for in-game structures.

I shall keep everybody posted as more team members arrive. Thanks! :rolleyes:

As you may have read from our website / previous news articles, the post-beta version of "Command & Conquer 2142" mod is intended for release in Oct/Sept this year. However, we do have a few places within the team that need to be filled-in before our initial alhpa-release, they are:
